Here's to a new year!

Ok, i havent been on here since July 2010, i am very ashamed! My life has been one crazy roller coaster ride lately. I will skip all the old news except this, Steve and I just got done building a house! It's on five acres and its 1/2 mile from where we were living, except its our own place, and not in my in laws back yard :) .

Im am so thankful to the Lord for providing the funds for us to be able to build such a nice house. I am also thankful to every one, ecspecially my dad and bro in law for all the help they have given us,with everything from helping us paint or move furniture, to putting in our heating and air unit. We still have so much to do! Last week we finished building our chicken house (we have 40 hens) and yard, and yesterday we finished our Turkey, Duck and goat house/pen. ( Yes we are rednecks with lots of animals). I am looking forward to this summer, when hopefully we will have enough money saved up to start building outr barn!

Things have been goin g great at our grocery store, we have a great staff and mostly good customers lol.

I am very optimistic about this new year, i have some issues i have been trying to do better on, have a few things i need to work on, and am praying God helps me have a better attitude about certain subjects. Itd gonna be hard but hey, im trying!

new family member!

Its been a little while since i have gotten on this thing- lots has been going on! Steve is very busy with the store, I have not been able to work for the last week because i stuck a rusty pitchfork through my boot into my big toe while cleaning the barn last week! It was pretty bad, Doc said i can return to work tommorow! I have been stuck inside because the medicine i am one does not cooperate with sunlight! Today i actually got to ride for a little bit, Izzy was wonderful, Steve was off today so we actually got to ride together. I am also having to doctor Kate because she got stung by some ground bees and her hind leg is swollen and scabby. On Memeorial day Steve and i added to our four legged family by buying a 13 month old Registered Paint Stallion, Kid Ringo, he is gorgeous! I have been wanting a baby for a while, and we helped Steves brother sell his saddle horse, so we had a little extra room. We will castrate him in October, when he is a year and a half old. He is a tri color buckskin paint which is kinda unusual. He i has a great personality and i cannot wait to start riding him next year. Right now i am doing light training work with him. At this point in his life he just needs to be feed good and mieesed with a few days a week, he needs time to grow and play and just be a baby!!!

horse and mule pics!

In case you dont reallly know me- I really love my animals! Poeple think its unusual that I love mules( a cross between a donkey and a horse) so much! I grew up riding Quarter horse s and competing in Jr/ High Schol Rodeo, but when i moved back home I got into mules. My daddy has always ahd them and I used to be so embarrased about that! But since early 2003 i am hooked! They are very intelligent animals. The one I have now are Kate and Izzy. Kate is 16.2 hands tall which is a pretty good size for riding mule! Her mom was a TN walker, and her daddy a gaited jack. I ahve owned her for two years and I love her very much, she is like a 900 lb dog! Izzy i s my other mule, he rmom was a Quarter horse and her dad was a jack. I have had her since she was 2, now she is 5. She is wonderful, not as loving as Kate but very smart and gentle enough my little nephews and neice can ride her! We just sold my palomino paint mare picture above last fal she was abslolutely beautiful, but a handful to maintian, she has a really good home now. Scout is our youngest, he will be three this year. Steve raised him. His mother belongs to Steves brother, Matt. He is a little guy never grew very tall but he is really gentle and we hope to break him to work behind a buggy this fall! So yep Im animal crazy lol but I do know my limits, cant afford to have too many you know!!!

Weekend at the farm

I did not get a whole lot done this weekedn, it was wet and rainy! I did get to ride my mule Kate, and my friend Heather came out and rode my other mule Izzy Saturday, before the rain hit! Both mules were great! Then i headed to our store in Moscow. It was kind of slow until close, but that gave em more time to straighten aisles and clean up a bit. I also decided to keep one of my father in laws kittens! He is giving them away and asked me which one I wanted to keep! Im a huge sucker for animals, so I deceided to keep Sally! She is probaby 6 weeks old . My house is very small for allt he critters that have been in and out of there this past weekend! I have a one week old puppy and his momma, Lucy and Uno, then I have my other little Fiest dog, Gus and the kitten was in and out of there all weekend. So thats it for my exciting weekend back at work finishing my last week here, some poeple tell me im making a mistake, to leave my job and go work with my husband, but I really have a peace about it, I know God is with me and everything will work out! Steve needs me to help him and that what im gonna do!
